Travel-Tips Overview
The beach of Ipanema can be reached in less than 20 min. by bus!
- Copacabana: 10 min. by subway from “Largo do Machado”
- Old City Centre: 10 by tram (“Bondinho”) or by minibus via Santa Teresa
- Lapa: A great place to go out oin the weekend – 9 minutes by minibus via Santa Teresa (24 hour service)
- Largo do Machado (Subway Station): 5 minutes walking distance
- Flamengo (beach): 5 minutes walking distance from Largo do Machado
- Maracana-Soccer Stadium: 15 minutes by bus
- Sambodromo (Samba Stadium) 15 Mminutes by bus or about half an hour walking
We recommend the busses no. 571 and 434, which run through almost all the interesting parts of Rio and the beaches from Largo do Machado or Lapa
